Well, after months and months of being unsure, I finally found someone to probe Peanut today. As it turns out, Peanut is indeed a female. I am going to expect all of you to just know this, because I won't get around to changing the captions in my photo gallery for a while simply because i don't feel like doing it. But, I am now knowingly the proud owner of a PAIR of bp's.

well my first indication that peanut was a female was of course, the unconfirmed tell-tale signs... like the fatter tail, thicker body, and smaller spurrs. but what REALLY gave it away, was how peanut acted around bubba. i spoke to a professional about her behavior, and she informed me that a female ball python that is not sexually matured will get very defensive when introduced to a matured male. so, an answer to your question, as soon as peanut's old enough to be a mommy, i don't see any reason to not make it happen.
