Heres some pics i just took of some cicada exoskeletons i found in my garden earlier today. Im not an expert on them but to my knowledge they only come up from underground to breed every 7 or 9 years or something. They shed their exoskeletons for whatever reason, and theyre neat looking. Ive also noticed that they tend to like maple and dogwood trees in my yard more than any others. Im not sure if these are all across the country or more of just a new england thing. Either way i figured i would share, enjoy!

They come up yearly down south, cool critters!

You mean the haha? Yea that woulda helped, remember im a bit simple lol.
In my defense, some people find weird noises soothing. A co-worker told me last week they usually go to sleep with white noise playing. (Like static noise from a radio). How that would help someone sleep is beyond me lol...

yeah that would annoy me beyond belief! I have to sleep with a fan on now thanks to my boyfriend. After two years it kind of stuck with me. But yeah no white noise here.
Crickets are charming I think.

Yea what i meant was the individual critters themselves are on like a 7 or 9 year cycle. Im sure not every cicada is on the same yearly cycle so it would make sense for them to come up every year.
Im not really sure if that theory makes any sense. It sounded logical in my head but after typing it out im not so sure haha...

Are backyard is full of the little buggers....we find their 'shells' on the fence, deck, maple tree & pine tree. They seem to like our pine tree best for some reason? My wife snapped this pic of one just after coming out of its exoskeleton....
