feeding trouble

I have a male pastel that just wont eat. He eats mabye once a month and I feed every 5 /7 days. Hes only 150g and hes a 2011 hatch. I have 2012 hatches that are twice his size. Hes only one that wont eat. Iv tried f/t ore killed live mice rat pups and smaller and he just wont take em. Anyway to get him to eat?

Try this, this is something i just suggested to someone else:
get the rodent and place it in the same room as your reptile, maybe on top of the tank let it thaw out for about half hour - 1 hour depending on the rodent size.
Then get a blow dryer and start blow drying the scent of the rodent towards the ball hopefully he should come out of hiding looking for the prey
(when i do this the second i place the frozen rodent wrapper on top of my cage my ball flies out looking but has to wait 1 hour hehe)

once you have blowdryed the scent of the rodent, and at the same time warmed it up just dangle the rodent above the ball and hopefully he sould strike it, if not leave it in his cage over night but if it is still their in the morning remove it, and feed on the next scheduled day.

Ill try it but only thing ive ever seen him eat is live. He wont go near it anytime I do pk or ft. Most the time he just cuddled with the live ones... strange snake.

Also, you should try smaller or larger prey.

What is your cage setup, substrate, and temps? It is not normal for a BP that small to eat that rarely, so it is very likely due to stress.

Ive tried rat hoppers pups and pinkies. All my snakes are in a rack system 16qt tubs with a paper towel 90 high side mid low 80 s on cool 40% or more humidity. Don't know why he would be stressed every other snake in my rack eats great.

A 6qt tub and hide would be best for a picky eater...I would also try live mice a week after you down size is enclosure.

"Every other snake" isn't this snake. Does he have snug-fitting hides (more than one)? Move him down to a 6-qt. tub and use aspen bedding (allows him to hide underneath). He likely doesn't feel secure in such a large tub.

Ill try the 6qt when I get home with aspen bedding and see how it goes. Gonna be cramped with is water bowl and hides tho.
