Frugal herpers rack/home depot/target DIY special- enclosing it?

I was reviewing this link here: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...r-s-Snake-Rack

Along with a similar youtube video i saw of a how-to to build a rack like this and was wondering a few things...

Judging simply by appearance it has the same problem of vision racks with heat- needs to be in a temp controlled room yes?

What are peoples thoughts on building a rack as shown- but then putting 3 pieces of wood/melamine on the two sides, and back to keep heat in and regulated better? You could screw it into the plastic/and to the wood that meets the backing- thoughts?

What are downfalls/why wouldn't this be a feasible option?

I think enclosing the sides and back would be fine and help keep the heat. The RhinoRaxx from Boaphile at boaphileplastics.com are enclosed, check them out.

Liquidnails of another super adhesive might work to attatch the sides and back. That would give it a cleaner look, I think.
