    Humidity problems.

My baby ball python is in a 20g long tank. The hot side is at about 90 degress basking spot and the cool side is about 83 degress. The humidity is at about 55% which is a good humidity. The reason i need help is when her next shed happens i want to be able to get the humidity up to 70%. I am currently using the towel on the top of the cage trick and spray three times a day and can only seem to get it at 60% max but then it goes down quickly to about 53%. I have a big water bowl also. How can i make the humidity go up? I cant put the lamp over the bowl since then her hide would not be heated. Help please!

Why? 55%RH is completely fine. I rarely increase the RH beyond 60%Rh even for a shed and often not even that much I get perfect sheds at 55% even 50% there is no reason to increase beyond 60%. High humidity and lower ventilation have been known to contribute to respiratory issues I would avoid increasing RH by blocking off ventilation especially when there is no reason to.

Oh ok thank you. I guess alot of people are wrong about the 70% humidity being needed for shed lol.

You could put a humid hide in there at shed time. Just a Tupperware container with a hole cut out. Fill it with moist moss and it will have higher humidity thank the rest of the tank.

Try moving you water dish as close to the heat source as you can. What is your substrate? Eco earth will help with humidity too, then you don't have to spray all the time. Honestly, a tub set up is the best for holding humidity though.

    Yes they are.

70% without adequate ventilation/air movement is a prescription for health issues. You can provide a humid microclimate (ie a humid hide) and let the remainder of the tub/tank stay at ambient and your snake will do just fine.
