Monty is fasting again. I thought I'd give him time to rest after eating his last meal, but it seems he is fasting. Now, I know it's common especially for males to go fasting during breeding season. He is a year and a half old, does it have to be this soon??? It's really stressing, I hoped I'd never experience it.
Having never bred I'm not too in the know on this subject. When does breeding season come to a close for males? I can't wait till he eats. Until then I'm following the info I put out to the world. I'm gonna buy a gerbil, even though he is cb, and I'll feed it to him hopefully. I'm also gonna be feeding him at night from now on. I want him to break this. Maybe his new cage will help.

Good luck, John, I know it's frustrating. I always feed mine at night because I figure it ups the chances of their eating for me, so maybe your strategies when combined will do the trick.
3.1.1 BP (Snyder, Hanover, Bo Peep, Sir NAITF, Eve), 1.2.3 Rhacodactylus ciliatus (Sandiego, Carmen, Scooby, Camo, BABIES ), 1.0 Chow (Buddha), 0.2 cats (Jezebel, PCBH "Nanners"), 0.3 humans

Don't ya just hate it when the kids grow up? Are we ever ready???
I'm going through that now with my gopher. I'm agonizing over whether to try live pinks and/or fuzzies because I'm afraid he won't go back to frozen. If I had a bp, I'd be afraid to try a gerbil for the same reason. But...I do know I'd rather have him eating live than starving!

Yeah, I do hate it. But what the heck. Maybe Goldy would like a gerbil too, she's fasting for a bit too. If nobody wants the gerbil I'll just breed a few and then feed them all. I did that once with mice. Monty was so full after downing a family.
