    Good cage for GTP?

This guy has this on CL for 140, would this be good for my GTP? I've heard good things about these cages but is it tall enough?

I can't see the picture but green tree pythons need more horizontal space than vertical. They need to thermo-regulate just like ball pythons and they typically move side to side rather than up an down to do so. Most people recommend a cage 36" x 24" x 20" for an adult. (But could easily thrive in 24" cubes) Hatchlings should be kept in much smaller spaces so they feel secure.

How big is your GTP? Is it a male or female? Most breeders keep their makes in 24 in cubes and females get 36x24x24. I would check out pvccages.com Jim is a great guy. I got the 36x24x24 for JCP and I plan on getting another cage from him when my GTP gets bigger.

Domenge you have two threads going for this.

If your gonna ask a question it it important to give us all the information you have. The cage in the pic does not appear to be a very good option for a GTP. It is to deep for a youngster and to short for an adult. I don't think you would be able to create the correct thermal gradient in such a short cage. It looks like a 12inch, that right?

I posted on your other thread I have my young one in a 12*12*18 and it works great. Later i will move her to a 24*24*24 or at largest a 36*24*24. What makes a GTP nice is how well they use the cage space. Being that they are not stuck on the floor they have more room in a smaller area.

Yea I know, the two threads was because I posted in general BP because that seems to be the most populated and the general pythons only had 1 viewer. Anyway thanks for the info I'm going to pass on the deal and order from pvccages. Thanks!

I would say no to the hanger. It doesn't look thick enough out very stable. These are easy to use, just make sure the max length is not to short for what she is in.

If you look in your other thread i posted a pic. In it you can see a vine I bought. I twisted the two thin vines together adding suction cups in the places as I twisted. I then spiraled it through the enclosure to give alot of climbing area.

I'm just curious what you traded for her? Did he say he handled her, is she nippy?
