    What to get next?

So I have 3 4 BP's and a retic, but always looking for that next snake. What would you say to get next? I've thought about another BP, Brazilian Rainbow Boa, and a green tree python. Any other ideas or reinforcements?

I would say a Colubrid to give yourself some variety, since you have a bunch of pythons.

Blood python not too big bit bigger than a ball. The cherry bombs and t- albino are stunning in person. My second choice would def be a hog if you dont have one they have so much personality!

I second your GTP idea. Yes, they require alittle work to be able to handle them but it has not been bad. I found that the husbandry is pretty easy, mine is in a 12x12x18 and has plenty of room, and as adults only require a 2x2x2 cage, which I thought was good for a snake that could reach 6ft. They really make good use out of the cage being in the branches and not stuck on the floor.

When I got mine she was very nippy but with handling about three times a week I can now have her come out with usually little to no striking, and once shes out she is fine. Yesterday she actually crawled across the top of my head, around my neck, across my shoulders and back to my hand as a perch. LOVED IT!!!!

They are also really fun to watch feed, she does it all from her vines and branches. She is also active every night except the three after feeding. So me working nights I get to watch her, so you would be able to also. Most suggest that Biaks are the nippy ones of the group and that an Aru is the least nippy. They also say dont handle them at night, but I found this not true for mine. If you wake her up during the day she is pissy, but at night when she is moving around she is always fine. She eats like a champ too.

A Hoggy is fun but mine stays buried and comes up just for a bit each day. Its a ninga, I usually only see its track in the ecoearth.

For me I have decided my next will be a Blood. Bigger than a ball but not huge and I love the colors and patterns.

I do have to say that Aaron has a good looking Dumeril there, I might have to get one.

The Dumeril is absolutely beautiful, I love the patterns. Hogs are cute but they do stay hidden a lot. The reason I was thinking GTP is because it's a good display snake. And I don't know why, but I've never been crazy about bloods lol.

    Re: What to get next?

Can't agree more with the Dumeril Boa. Personally, I have no space for one at the moment, but I would love to get one. They have that nice size, but still managable (especially males) and wonderful dispositions. I've held a few in recent months and they are definitely something I'd want to get one day. But, GTPs are also on my list. A friend of mine has half a dozen or so right now, so I'll probably swing down there in a bit and see how I like them. They have a bad rep for being really aggressive, but from what I've heard they're just cage defensive. Once they're out, they're fine. Heck, even my corn snake has days where she just wants to be left alone. So I think it's just a reputation that got out of hand.
