Should look nice, but keep in mind functionality wise that juvenile carpets are usually more arboreal than later down the line. Most adults will retain some of the semi-arboreal nature, but not too often. Cage width and depth is usually more geared toward when dealing with adult carpets. Heighth can be considered ideal for younger ones though. Then again, it's all up to the snake. Hope he/she likes it!

Very cool. I have a sub-adult jcp along with my bpz and he has a completely different personality. Couple of questions? is that heat cable connecting each perch? If not, how are you heating the enclosure? Can't wait to see the final product with your morelia inside. Keep us posted.

Just saw this thing in person the other day ... it's way bigger than it seems in the photo. The 'cable' is actually a fake vine for climbing from perch to perch/platform. Radiant heat panel at the top.
AKBalls, you should take some updated photos of your new beauty

Re: Carpet display cage in the works
So here it is. Its pretty much done I still have to put a face board on so the light doesnt shine in your eyes but other then that its about over. Heres a brief list of what I used to make it and heat/Light it.
- 3 4X8 sheets of 3/4 inch hardwood plywood
One sheet for the back wall one for the top and bottom and one for the side walls.
- 2 sheets of 1/4 inch tempered glass you can use plate glass also
- Tracks and rollers from the local glass store.
- A box of 2 inch wood screws
- Counter sink and pilot bit
- A box of 2 inch screws
- Wood stain
- 24 inch fluorescent light housing
- 80w Reptile Basics Heat Panel
- Moss and vines from petco
- Got the fake plants on Ebay for dirt cheap
- Rocks and perch/climbing limbs are all from my backyard
I just cut them all so they could fit in the oven then I peeled the bark
and baked them at 400 degrees for about an hour opening the oven every 10 mins to let the steam out. I used the 2 inch screws to attach everything.
Thats about all of it. Inside to inside is 38in its about 69in tall and 24in deep.
Here are some pics of the new resident. Ill be sure to put some pics up when it is finished. Let me know what you guys think!
