    Buying a new cage

From animal plastics. And I am currently using the grass look. It is however getting old buying new rolls of the grass when these ones get really nasty smelling even after I wash them. I was considering using just normal paper towels or newspaper. Of those two which do you guys recommend? It would be much cheaper and alot easier cleanup. Thanks in advance for opinions!

Well paper towels are more absorbent but newspaper is cheap. Especially if you have a free circulation where you live, just grab some from the corner store when you stop in. We have a add newspaper that's free all over the city.

Before I used shavings I used newspaper and didn't have any complaints.

I use newspaper. It is cheap and readily available. It also does an excellent job of absorbing all the liquids that get "spilled" in the tubs. I use to use just a few sheets per tub, but now I use 2 to 3 sections per tub. By doing this it is able to absorb more and makes substrate changes quicker.

How many layers do you lay down? That is the actual cage I used also. And is any paper towel fine? Should I stay away from any? Ty for all the responses!

A single layer is all you need.

Any paper towel will work, but the more absorbent (basically not the cheap ones) work best, though as I said any will get the job done. I do prefer the ones that split into smaller sections, that way you waste less on overlap.

I use paper towel in all my AP enclosures for my bloods and I prefer paper towel over newspaper or any other substrate
