BP Feeding Issues
Hello there, I have a question for you guys.
I've had my baby BP for about a month now and he's eaten 3 times for me so far. The first two times were live mouse fuzzies, then he missed a meal because he was shedding, then the next meal he ate a f/t mouse fuzzy.
This last feeding day he refused to eat and I'm wondering what the reason could be?
It was f/t again, but it was a hopper mouse instead of a fuzzy this time. Could it be that the size up just scared him or something?
He is fed every 5 days (when he takes it), temps are normal, humidity is good. The reason I upped the feeder size is because he's grown and he now shows no lump when he eats a fuzzy.
He's been out and about in his enclosure the past 4 or so days during the day and seemed to be hungry but then he refused the f/t mouse.
Any advice would be welcome, thanks!

Re: BP Feeding Issues
all i can think of is maybe the rodent is too big for him?
or has there been any changes in temps or anything like that or anything making him feel insecure?
But I'm no expert on this so i would wait for other people to weigh in
Good luck.

Thanks! I was thinking that maybe they are a tiny bit too big for him still. Should I try to feed 2 fuzzies to him at feedings instead?
There haven't been any changes to his environment since his last feeding that I can think of.

Re: BP Feeding Issues
You can always try that see if it works if he has out grown 1 fuzzie, but like i said I'm not really an expert on feeding
hope it goes well for you
Have you tried Rats?

I think I'll try the 2 fuzzy thing.
I would have tried rats but the place I went to to get him feeders didn't have any frozen rats. :|

Re: BP Feeding Issues
That's the same problem with me they only sell Mice, and there is no point ordering 10 rats if my ball won't eat them
Also if he is roaming the cage in the day time it could also mean your ball is stressed.

That's the thing though, before feeding day he didn't come out during the day at all, but a day before feeding day he started the roaming which made me think he was hungry.

Will do! I'm going to give him another day or two before I try to feed him again so I don't stress him out.

Thought I'd give an update.
Offered my little BP 2 live fuzzy mice today and he struck the first one immediately and had the second one within half an hour I believe. So he definitely was hungry and I'm glad he ate ! I think it must have been the size of the f/t mouse that put him off last time.
