How are you guys handling the heatwave?

I'm not sure if it is hitting you, but right now it is 105 degrees and my air conditioning just went out . My whole house is at 87 degrees and rising.

I've been soaking and fanning like crazy. Plus I have four ball pythons cooling off on my bed lol.

It's supposedly 95F outside right now, and it's 77F in here...with a whole house AC and Window AC on. It's not expected to get any better any time soon...only worse.

I've only been out of Nebraska for a couple years, where it was regularly over 100 in the summer... but that two years in the Pacific Northwest (about an hour south of Seattle) has shown that I adapt rather well to my environment. Haha. The high for today was 63, and I was too warm out in my car with the windows down (and then too cold minutes later when it rained for 10 minutes). The high for the next 10 day forecast looks like it will be 86... and that's a rarity. I know that it's still 15-20 degrees less than was I was used to for 8 years in Nebraska... but I will be dying. Will be perfect for the snakes though

Jealous!! We need the rain here in KC. It's not even that cool in my HOUSE right now!! It's hell on my electric bill and I only keep the thermostat set to 75. It's 79 degrees in my house, 96 outside and not a shade tree in my whole neighborhood. These houses get HOT in the afternoon!

I grew up in Missouri so this heat is nothing up here. The temps got to 95 the other day and they issued a heat advisory... Now that it's nearing 100 out, people are panicking. The house has to been kept around 74-75 anyways because we have chinchillas and they can overheat. The raccoon kits are getting a bit warm since we have them acclimating to outside temps. They've been panting a lot more during playtime and sucking down water like crazy. Personally, the reptiles and I think it's wonderful! My husband, however, is acting like he's dying on the couch.

Heat wave? I'm just glad I can start wearing the short sleeves again.
