moving snake due to having pesticides sprayed

I am having my apartment sprayed for bugs. We have a problem with thousand leggers here and have become overrun by these creatures. The landlord is having this done so it is mandatory. I am just wondering if I am making the right choice by having my snake stay in a completely different location? A friend of mine is going to take care of my snake for me while we get the infestation under control.

I would say yes I wouldnt what my snakes exposed to pesticides. I'm pretty sure that humans arent supposed to inhale them so good move on your part . the only thing I would make sure of is that your friend will properly care for them.

I agree, you wouldn't leave a dog/cat/children or other people there to breathe it in. I didn't know what "thousand leggers" were so I googled them. I would not be cool sleeping in a room with those haha. I hope everything works out for you!

House centipedes freak me out. Climbed into the shower one morning, one darted across my foot, which then apparently startled the huge wolf spider I'd missed on the other side of the tub, so I had two freaky critters with FAR too many leggs, frantically rushing around the bathtub... both of which were too large to fit down the shower drain. Turns out they eat spiders though.. so I'm sure the wolf spider was slightly releived I disrupted the Gauntlet, until I squashed them both in a half-naked, sleepy eyed, fright.

    Ugh.

Definitely move them out while the place is being sprayed. Do you know how long you need to wait for it to be safe? Is this like a bomb where it will coat everything in the house (and need to make sure animal/human related furniture/dishes/tubs are also out of the way), or the stuff that gets sprayed on the ground, where you can leave your dishes exposed?

Re: moving snake due to having pesticides sprayed

This pesticide is going to be sprayed in my entire apartment. I would rather just be safe then sorry so that is why I have decided it would be best to move the snake to a completley different location. I'm not sure if they will have to come out more then once to spray for them at this point yet.

What I mean is, be certain to also cover YOUR food/dishes, as well as any items your snakes might come in contact with once they are allowed back in to the house. Or wash everything really well once you/the snakes are back in the apartment. wont do much good if you move the snakes to a safe location, only to have them drink contaminated water because their dishes were left out where spray could get into them, yeah?

Sorry that I misunderstood, lol. I am tired and it is very hot. No worries, I will have everything wrapped up and put out of harms way. Thank you for clarifying that bit of information though.
