I have used provent o mite in the past for my boas and balls, but I had a very scary experience the last time that I used it. It wasnt on my ball pythons, it was on my boas, but I HAVE used it on my ball pythons as well. I will try to upload a video, or link to it. The video shows 100% improvement from when I originally pulled them out of their tub. My room mate brought in a new snake, and didnt Q it, and used all my tubs for feeding, etc and didnt tell me. Mites transferred to MY boas. Anyway, I put the babys in my rack, and treated their tub. The tub was allowed to dry for about 4 hours before we put them in. All they had in the tub was a water bowl. The next morning when I checked on them, they were flipping over uncontolably, convulsing, with their mouths open wide, twitching. They were not able to control their bowels, and i was pretty sure they were all going to die. I immediately pulled them from the tub and called my vet and Prevent o Mite. My vet advised to rinse the snakes in warm water, but the prevent o mite dude said that would not help, that this was a rare reaction to the spray, and that the next 48 hours were critical, that they would die, or not. He said that if they made it past the 48 hours, they would be fine. After removing them from the tub and letting them be exposed to "Fresh air" for about 45 minutes, the improved substantially, and that is about when I took the video. The dude on the phone said that the snakes may or may not twitch for the rest of their lives. They all seem to be doing fine now, although they havent eaten since then which is not normal for them, but there is no twitching. I just wanted to share my experience, since this kind of reaction is not listed on the side of the can as a side effect.
