omg i need help!!!
ok so heres the thing... my boyfriend and i are getting pets.. myself a hog island boa, a baby actually gonna to be getting it in two week.. so im squared away.. but my boyfriend wants to get a baby dumerils monitor. well we didnt realize how hard they are to find. at first he wanted an argus monitor but then we learned that they are super active, like to jump outta the cage, and are really aggressive. i dont really want something in my apt thats aggressive, or too much so. so we learned that dumerils monitor s are not only super pretty but more docile that an argus monitor, but boy are they rare! ive been trying everywhere but it seems thats theyre sold out. sooooo my big question, to get to the point here, is that i was wondering if anyone knows for sure where to get one right now, OR if they know another type of monitor that gets up to about 4 ish ft long and is pretty docile like the dumerils? This would be so so so much help. thank you

You're in an apartment? I would recommend doing more research on different monitor species, paying very close attention to their space requirements in relation to their size, the amount and type of food each specific species needs, and once you think you've found out enough information... research some more. Maybe spend some time on a monitor specific forum... ask lots of questions, oh.. and research a little more.

Personally, I would recommend monitors as a home owner's captive.
Between the space requirements and food intake, it's one heck of a commitment.
