In my GTP terrarium I have a Zoo Med waterfall kit. It runs down and into the water bowl, overflows and completes the cycle. It has been great to keep my humidity up. I ask having one problem. The water evaporates really fast.

Setup:

12*12*18 tank
Hydrobeads base
Screen
Repti-bark

Problem: have a vacation in a few months and will be gone for seven days, water level will drop to far for waterfall to work properly.

Solution ideas:

1.) A friend will check by, but I would rather they not have to do anything just make sure bulbs are working and the water is there.

2.) Take a tupperware base and drill holes in the sides. Place this upside down in the middle of the beads. Therefor displacing the beads and giving me a larger water reservoir.

3.) Add a large water dripper that will replenish the lost water. I found this gallon dripper on Amazon, http://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-The-Dr...little+dripper . I'm leaning towards the dripper cause that would be easy for my friend to refill if needed without having to open the tank. He is not a snake person and she is nippy, easy is best.

4.) Turn the waterfall Off when I'm gone and add a mister for my humidity. Suggest a good mister if you like this option. I want to add one anyway just have not commited to one yet.

Do yall have any other ideas or could make mine better?

I also like the dripper idea because when I get home I can take it down. I know waterfalls can cause bacteria/mold problems. But with how fast I loose water adding it once or twice a week keeps my water fresh and so far I have not had any problems.
