    A MAJOR surprise hatchling!!

The only one pearl that survived, unfortunately, but a HUGE surprise!

Sorry the pics are low quality, its hard getting a good pic of it because of the coloring of him/her.

We had 2 hypos hatch out as well, but they both only have one eye not sure what happened with that. They are beautiful anyway, and we are extremely happy with this pearl!

Were they just missing one eye or were they cyclopses?

I had a friend that had a 14ft burm that was born with one eye. Just had a scale over the place were the eye should be, doesnt seem to effect the snake at all! Interesting though.

    What is that Heather ?

    A Burmese ?

Whatever it is, I have never seen one so beautiful. It gives those expensive four gene ball pythons a run for their money.

I am sorry you had bad news with your clutch, one of the less pleasant aspects of breeding any animal. However a huge congratulations on this amazing baby. Tell me, have you ever seen one of these as an adult ? Do they keep these colors, or change the way most ball pythons hatchlings do as they age ?

Yes it is a burm. I haven't seen one as an adult, so I'm not sure how much they change. I will definitely keep updates on this one though

    Did you euthanize them?
I hope not, because I know their quality of life doesnt seem to be compromised. As evidence of the burm I personally know with his one eye.

I would LOVE to see pictures of your little one eyed beauties.

Oh no, they are happy in the hatchling rack

    Hypo 1

    Hypo 2

I couldn't get their "cute eyeless' side, since they want to keep an eye on you ( no pun intended ).
