    Holdback normal?

What do you think about this little normal girl. She had her first shed today! 4 of 8 shed out today, I can't wait for the others!
I was thinking about holding this one back, do you guys see anything about her that makes her stand out? Would you hold her back if you hatched her out?
She looks a lot like her mother.

Before shed. She's on the left...

    After shed...

Not the greatest pics ever lol.
Thank goodness for my 9 yr holds help though.
    Lemme know your thoughts.

    Re: Holdback normal?

I love it. If that were mine and I was looking to hold a few females back that would be one I would hold on to. I love the pattern and the clean belly. I also like how deep the blacks are on it. I must say I am mildly jealous.

    Re: Holdback normal?

It would depend. If I was looking for normal females to hold back then I would. If I wasnt planning on holding any normals back Id probably put her up for sale.

I think she would pair well with a black pastel if I did hold her back...
I am trying to reach the 12 female/6 male mark (males I'm set, I just need a lemonblast and a bumblebee and ill be good)
I have 0.1 norm (breeder size)
    0.1 late '10 pastel (1200 g)
    0.4 holdback spiders ( if I don't sell 2 of them)
Her pattern is wonky, clean belly and I didn't know if you all saw something worth growing up or not.

She's female, if you have room you really can't go wrong with more egg makers.

I also wouldn't hold her back. She has an interesting pattern, but not quite interesting enough. I usually select very light females with high blushing, flames, and reduced patterns to hold back, and hold back one normal female each year. It does come down to personal preferences, of course!

    Last year's normal holdback:

    The one from 2010:

When it comes to holding back normals, I'm VERY picky--they have to be good enough to actually improve my morph lines, not just pair decently with them.

    Re: Holdback normal?

If YOU love her, then hold her back.

If I was picking one to hold back, would I pick her? Probably not.

Do I see anything special about her? Not really.

I do like the one Donna held back in 2010 - that would be an example of one I'd hold back (but keep in mind, I'm also extremely nutty for reduced patterns).

I haven't actually ever held back any normals - I was extremely picking when building my initial colony of normal girls. Last year I actually had to thin out my normals to make room for the morph girls. Sold off more than half of my normal females. Most of them are with a friend who lives about 30 minutes from me now.
