CA Super Motley Giving Birth (Warning Graphic)

Here is a picture of one of my central american super motley het t+ giving birth. I bred her to a hypo het t+ albino and a possible super hypo possible het t+. She isn't finished in this picture. Only five our out. Unfortunately three of the offspring are dead, but two others seem to be fine.

Super motleys have a very bad reputation, so I thought that people would like to know that they are able to thrive, and reproduce.

Here is a shot of the female before giving birth:

Oh wow that is so crazy! I'm going to sound really dumb now, but do all boas have live births? Live births are so cool!

Yes. All boas give live birth. It is one of the major differences between Boas and Pythons. Congrats on the litter! Can't wait to see pics once they are all out.

I am very interested to see what happens. I have only heard bad things about super motley's, I'm glad to see somebody is giving it a try anyway.

Congratulations on keeping a super alive long enough to breed and give birth! Out of curiosity, how old is the female?

Re: CA Super Motley Giving Birth (Warning Graphic)

Thanks for all of your comments. I have two CA super motleys. Both are five years old. I have heard that all Colombian super motleys die at around 2.5 years old. Mine are still doing well. They do look a little weird though.

It turns out that she only had six, and only two survived. The ones that did not make it were fully developed, but were dead before she gave birth. I will snap a few pics of the ones that made it in a couple of days.
