I rode for my first time ever!!! (my first motorcycle)
Hey all,
Most of you around here know that I just bought my first motorcycle and Friday I got my motorcycle licence and today I got it insured and plated! I then took her for practice rides in the parking garage below my apartment.
Wow was it awesome! I stalled more times then I would like to say haha but I have never driven any type of motorcycle (scooter, dirtbike ect) So getting used to the clutch is hard work! But my brother in law has ridden for over 10 years so he was there beside me coaching me how to ride.
I was actually able to get going and fast enough to take my feet off the ground! for about 300 feet then I would be at the end of the parking garage.
It was a blast I cant wait to go out tomorrow and practice some more!!
But I learned a VERY VERY valuable lesson today. BIKE EXHAUSTS (PIPES) GET HOT. I rested my thigh on it by accident and burned and blistered the inside of my thigh.
Anyways I am going to get some good pictures and videos up soon so stay tuned!!
Thanks for reading!

LOL and I just woke up this morning and could barely move my legs they are so stiff! Because when I got to the end of the parking garage I would have to turn the bike around by walking it and facing it the other way since I still can barely get going in a straight line lol. She has a dry weight of 505lbs so she is pretty dang heavy lol.

Welcome to the wonderful world of open road riding. Be careful, it's just as addictive as ball pythons, and much more expensive
I have only two suggestions for you, regardless of what kind of bike you ride.
1. Get MSF Certified (motorcycle safety foundation). alot of local bike shops host these classes, they last about 3-4 days, and they are GREAT for first time riders. They teach you EVERYTHING, from walking your bike, to cornering, controlled stops and emergency swerving.
2. (MOST IMPORTANT) wear ALL your gear, ALL the time. after years of riding, it does sometimes get annoying to put on boots, and gloves, and a jacket, and a helmet. but TRUST ME, its worth it. even a very low speed fall can hurt, ALOT. road rash sucks (i know).
i hate to preach, but just remember, there's only two types of riders. Those who have crashed, and those who haven't crashed YET

Thanks for reading!
I think all motorcyclists have learned that lesson at some point...
Congrats on your first ride...

I hear you brother! I am booking my safety course today and I know about always wearing my gear. Trust me I am a really safe person so if I were to go out without my protective gear I would prob feel way to guilty and un safe. That and my mom would whoop my butt.
