    Water Question

So i finally got rid of my hand spray bottle today and bought a 2 gallon pump sprayer one with a hose(walmart $14). i treat all the water before it goes into/onto my animals with the zoomed reptisafe.now my question since i work and go to school. sometimes i do not get to change water everyday, since i do not get home till 11pm-2am and have to be back by 8-9am. how long can the water sit in the 2 gallon sprayer afters its been treated with reptisafe, before you would consider it no good?only reason I'm asking is because i use a lot of this stuff with my terrapin cage when he gets water changes every week. and i let the water with reptisafe sit for 24hrs before it touches my animals.
    thanks for the help

Unless your water is really nasty reptisafe isn't necessary at all.

I use water from my Brita filter (mainly so it doesn't spot up my glass so much) and leave it in a spray bottle for about 4 days before it is all used up.

Their drinking water also comes from my Brita filter and is changed every 4 days.

I don't use reptisafe either for my snakes or my geckos. We have well water and, while its somewhat hard, it is really good quality. In fact, we've been told its better than our city water. It does spot the glass of my GTP's cage, so I use bottled water in my mister. I wash the nozzle and rinse and refill once a week.

    Re: Water Question

The water treatment should make it so that you don't need to change the water every day - it'll stay good for at least a day or two.

If you know you won't be able to be home and changing the water, try just filling up the sprayer and leaving it sit exposed to the air for the day that you won't have time to mess with it anyway. All the chlorine will evaporate (as I'm sure you're aware, as this is one way to treat tap water for fish tanks) and the reason you use the water treatment in the first place will be irrelevant!

Or run the water through an activated carbon filter (Brita Filter) That will remove all Chlorine, heavy metals, and pesticides from the water.

I don't think you need the reptisafe but I also see no problem with using it. The thing I would be leery of is leaving water sit in a container (sprayer) for too long. 2 gal is a huge amount i would not use that much in a month. I don't like leaving water stand for more than a few days that is the concern I would have with such a large sprayer.
