    Air holes in egg tub?

New incubator, new tubs! And now the big question: should I poke air holes in the egg tubs, or seal them up completely to maintain humidity?

I assume the eggs still need to breathe, though. People without air holes, do you rely on checking on the eggs to provide fresh oxygen? How often do you need to do that to insure proper air exchange?

Well I haven't had eggs but Ralph Davis seals it with a plastic then covers it. Jkobylka just uses regular tubs n says that the regular flow is fine. Once they hatch is when the need air.

I put an air hole on each side about an inch from the top. I put a diffuser over perilite and fill with water to the bottom edge of the diffuser. I also put a bowl full of water in the bottom of the incubator to maintain high humidity. I've had no issues.

I do not have any air holes and do not mess with my egg boxes until the last week before hatching at which time I open the box every 2 to 3 days.

I don't put air holes or press n seal on my tubs. As long as you open the egg tub every few days it will be fine. I'm sure they can go for longer than that, but the practice right now is every few days.

I do the same thing. I also put press and seal on the top of the egg box. I don't touch it until a week before the hatch date.
