Dented eggs won't pop out?
Hello everyone,
I had my first ever clutch laid on the 1st this month and for some reason a few of them had some pretty deep dents in them after a day in the incubator. So what I did was got some Glad Press and Seal, sealed the container and put a wet paper towel over them. This literally did nothing. I know that the medium is wet enough, and the box is sealed. What else could it be?

I have a clutch of 5 in the bator now that are in bad bda shape.
I think she laid 2 to 3 days before I found them, this was also a week and a half earlier that she should have.(reason for me not checking)
They are on day 44 right now, I see movement when candeling so we will see in another week

Do you have pictures? I'm wondering how dimpled they are.

What shape were they in when they were laid? Were they all fertile? Maybe your medium is not wet enough...maybe burying the eggs 1/4 inch or so in your substrate and adding a little water to the corners of your tub will help.

I second burying the eggs, it really seems to help them stay hydrated if you're having trouble keeping the ambient humidity high enough. I bury my eggs about 2/3 down in the medium and they do great.

Also a possibility is that the dented eggs are not fertile, so are not absorbing water, and will soon begin to decay.
