Just hours before we are leaving on our two week vacation I discovered our pastel female got out of her tub. All my fault, too. Her tub is one of only two shelves in our big 11 tub rack that doesn't have a back to it and I must have shoved her tub a little too far in. This was our first ball python that has ever escaped from one of our racks. Ungrateful little brat flew the coop, even after I had just moved her up to a bigger tub here recently! Guess that wasn't good enough for her because she wanted the whole house.

The good news is I found her after frantically tearing apart the house. She was clear on the other side of our house in a freezing cold closet between a couple rubbermaid tubs. If she was a higher animal like a dog I would feel the need to put her back in her smaller tub as punishment since she got plenty of time to roam around. Maybe bump her temp up a degree or two too just to tick her off since she wanted it ice cold (I measured that spot at 61 degrees). Felt great to me, I can't imagine it being comfortable for her.

Now I'm gunna be paranoid the entire trip of someone going walkabout, even though I'm gunna have family taking care of them while we're gone. Now to go do my final inspection before we leave. Bleh!
