Today, I once again attempted to inspire my proven Lesser male, who I picked up maybe three weeks or a month ago, to feed although I actually wasn't expecting much of a response since he still seems to be in reproduction mode (he actually attempted to court my spider female when I was showing them to a friend) and he went opaque a few days ago but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try since I've had snakes take food in all sorts of situations in the past.
I tossed the rat in his tank and was actually rather surprised when I saw him track but he became deterred when the rat got up in his face so I took the rat out, stunned it, then gave it back to him. He once again showed a lot of interest in it and even took a strike at it which is when he began to act a bit odd. The only way I can really think to describe it is the tracking behavior but extremely erratic. He was going back to the stunned rat then to all the places the rat had previously been when I fist offered it to him and was continuing to do these really frantic movements. I should have tried to take a video but by the time I grabbed my camera, he was finished with whatever he was doing. :/
I just found it very bizarre because I’ve never seen this in any of my other balls before. Anyone have any thoughts?
