    Wow! First time for everything.

So today was the first time I ever saw a snake refuse a live rodent. I tried feeding my mojave a f/t today and It looked like she was interested but never took it. I then went to the store and grabbed a live rat, put it in with her and I could've sworn she was gonna take it. She kept hunting it down till they got face to face but would still not strike. This went on for about 15 mins until I had enough so I threw it in the spiders tub and sure enough he took it right away. Oh well I guess I'll try again next week. Any suggestions if she refuses again next week?

    Thanks,
    Skylar

She's not going into shed cause she just finished a few weeks ago. It's only the second week so I'm too eager to get her to eat. I'm just amazed how she wouldn't even kill it. They were literally face to face like 5 times or more and no strike.

Could be your snake was startled by the rodent getting in her face.

Was the rodent any diffferent, color or size wise?

If the rat is bigger than what shes used to then it may have thrown her off. Or there have been cases of snakes refusing a meal thats not the same color as their usual meals lol. They can be such a pain, i mean joy, to feed. lol

It was the same size but it was also a hooded rat as opposed to the regular albino f/t that I have been feeding. Like I said though it's only two weeks so far so I'll just keep trying. Hopefully next week is better. Lol
