    Today was so cool!

    Did you ever have something really cool happen, totally unexpected that just made your day? You know, when you woke up in the morning you could not have anticipated it happening?

    Today was one of those days!

    It was the culmination of fortuitous timing and the generous nature of the person that took time out for me. I'll call it an opportunity, because if you believe in a higher power then there is no coincidence.

    I was fortunate enough to be shown first hand, how to candle eggs and set up an egg box for incubation. I have never even seen a ball python egg in person before. I have only seen pictures and videos on my computer screen. Today I held one and candled it. It was such a treat for me. I felt like a kid in a candy store and I've had a smile ever since. I also got to see a clutch of four eggs in the incubator where, three were out and in the box, while one was still hanging out in the egg.

    It might not be a big deal to many of you as it is more commonplace, but man it was special for me.

    On the flip side, it is certainly going to make waiting for that first clutch that much more anxious.

    Gosh, I love reptiles!

    el8ch;
    The egg candled just fine. Good veins. I didn't really know what to expect but the egg seemd drier to the touch and more textured than I had anticipated.

    Christopher De Leon;
    I can only imagine that if I got this excited about someone elses eggs that you are spot on when it comes to your own.

    I thought trying to recognize an ovy was exasperating. At least now I have a clue what I am looking for when I do get to eggs.

    On that note, I want to give props to all those that have pioneered this hobby without the luxury of many others to help them or forums such as this. Today we get to stand on the shoulders of giants and find a pretty well worn path to successful husbandry and breeding for their efforts. Thanks
