    Butts

Does anyone have a snake that is just OBSESSED with trying to eat rats butt first? I don't know why for all for her last 6 feedings, my girl just cannot seem to find the head. I have tried heating the head with the blowdryer, putting it right in front of her nose, dangling from the tongs, placing the rat on the ground without it hanging from tongs... and the thing is, it is currently physically impossible for her to swallow a small rat butt first, and she spends 30-45 trying in a pitiful display every single time before she gives up and finally tries the other end.

This is more of a vent than anything else, I just don't know why she is so obsessed all of the sudden. I like to watch and make sure she gets her meal down ok, so she is really taking up my time lately! I would just grab the thing and put it's nose in her face, but at this point SHE is so frustrated I might lose a finger. And she does seem visibly frustrated, she starts getting violent with the thing and thrashing around. grrrrr. Serpents!!!

LOL, I used to have a male Normal who was just like that. Always finished eating an hour behind the rest of the crowd. I finally just gave up trying to watch him. Since he was a F/T eater, I would just leave him alone and check to see if the rat was gone the next morning...it always was.

With all the motions that snake used to go through just to eat, I always wondered if he didn't burn more calories trying to eat, than he got from the rat.

Haha my spider is just like that! She either tries to eat it butt first or sideways, as in she tries to eat the midsection first It's resulted in many a popped mouse and messy cage

The past few feedings have been more accurate though, she's catching on lol

ive had that happen before just once it was funny seeing the mouse head popping out and disappearing into the snakes mouth before she finished swallowing it.
