uploading pictures (the easier way)
I've tried searching for this in case it's been suggested before or maybe it's buried somewhere and cant find it so i guess ill suggest this. One thing that'd make it easier for uploading pictures would be, instead of "insert link/url", to just have the pop up box that just lets us upload pictures directly from our pc's. the same way for when we want to choose a custom avatar for our profile. it'd be much easier than having to upload pictures on other sites like photobucket then copy and paste each url 1 by 1 when uploading several/tons of pictures.

The only issue is that we would very quickly use up all of the storage on BP.net's servers if we actually uploaded pictures to the site.
Uploading to photobucket then linking really is easier in the long run. I use pictures in my posts all the time, and if I had to upload them that would really be a pain.
Simply having photobucket open in another tab (or having the iPhone app running) is much faster if you post lots of pictures.

I agree using Photobucket is easier and faster, especially if you post the pics on more than one board. As was said, hosting the pics on BP.net is not nearly the most effect thing to do in terms of space.
Once you learn it, the procedure to post pics, even several at once, becomes pretty intuitive.

oh i see i didnt know that. 1 thing i do instead when uploading tons of pictures, i just upload them onto facebook then post the link from the album here. that way even people on their phones can see them.

If you use the IMG code on photobucket people on phones can see them. The only things that don't show up are videos that have been embedded into posts.

I have a blackberry and I can see all pics posted here if the IMG code is used from photobucket. Ironically, I can NOT see pics on facebook well at all. Either FB is too slow to load, or the pic won't enlarge and I can't see a tiny thumbnail well at all on my phone. But when I view the forums on my phone, the pics show up just fine in a post.
I love photobucket. I just keep a 2nd tab open and just copy and paste the IMG code for the pic I want to insert. You don't have to use the "insert image" button - just click on the IMG code at the bottom of the pic on photobucket (it'll say "image copied"), right click in your post where you want the pic to be and choose "paste". Voila - the pic is posted! Easy peasy....
But your idea was a good one in theory! It's always helpful to make suggestions whether they turn out to be practical or not - that's part of what make this site so awesome!

We do have our Gallery available, but it's very limited in what you can do. It's a bit clunky in my opinion. I'm a fan of PhotoBucket and Imgur. Imgur is more of a photo dumping ground. you don't need an account, just browse and upload, copy the IMG tags and paste.
