    Where are the black throats at???

    Does anyone know what time of year hatch lings start to hit the market? Been looking everywhere but no one has them. Thought that this being spring and everything else hatching where are all these guys at?

    I could very well be incorrect, but I believe that black throats hatch later in the year. I'm planning on picking one up when I get everything ready for one.

    You won't see any this year that aren't holdbacks from previous years, or smuggled illegally. Most BT's are from Tanzania - which recently banned the export of ALL animals from the country.

    Dang i hope that someone here has bred them or is at least planning on breeding them this year. Ive seen a couple but they are all 4 foot plus and on the other side of the country. Guess i just got to keep lookin around. Hopefully ill come across one at the breeders expo this year.

    Beside there being no imports it was my impression that breeding BT's is difficult.
    You are right in that there are no babies out there as far as I have seen and the price for yearlings and others has gone up to in excess of $600.
    Import babies if there are any coming out of countries bordering Tanzania won't be here until this fall. As you know, they are from the southern hemisphere and seasons are reversed. This is the beginning of winter below the equator.

    I have a friend in south carolina who breeds blackthroats. He usually sells his captive bred babies for 250.00-300.00 I can give you his contact info if you would like
