Satin rats?

Who has/can identify satin rats?

I have a line of longer furred rats and if they aren't Satins, then I don't know what they are.

I thought satin was a lot longer that what you pictured. All my rats look like your longer haired one. Their fur isn't as short as your short haired one, but mine are not satin rats. From your pictures, I don't really see satin. Maybe they're too young to tell. Do you have an adult from your long hair line to look at?

I've bred satin mice in the past. And their fur was really long and poofy. It's like comparing a Persian cat to a domestic short haired cat when looking at those mice. It was a pretty dramatic difference.

That, and they aren't shiny. I have had satin mice too, and satin rabbits, and seen satin cavy - and they are glossy. These rats have a healthy coat shine, but no more than the others. As adults, their coat doesn't change (longer, etc). And yours are like this too? I only have a handfull like this, the rest have shorter fur.

Not shiny enough and the whiskers aren't curly, I don't believe those are satin coats.

Looks Satin to me. Satin don't have curly as much as wavy long whiskers. Remember, just like any other standard, Satin has to be bred to obtain a certain look. I've seen poor rexes that you could barely tell were rexes.
