A couple weeks ago I picked up a 07 proven breeder bumblebee male and an 06 proven pastel female. I had no intentions in breeding them until next winter but I noticed the pastel female looked as if she was building. I palpated for follicles and definately felt some good sized ones in there. The guy I got her from said she had the year off. She is weighing in at just a hair under 2500 grams and currently is not interested in eating. The 07 bumblebee male was bred this year and has been back on feed for about 2 months now. He has put good weight back on and is at about 1300 grams.

Anyhow, seeing that the female already had good sized follicles, I was hoping the male could get the job done in a short time and then get back to his normal feeding schedule. So last night I introduced them. Let them be alone all night and I checked on them this morning and they are not locking and not really showing any signs of being interested. Should I give them a little longer? I'm thinking the male is just done for the year. The female has been showing all the signs of building - laying inverted, wrapping water bowl, staying on the cold side ect... Any advice is appreciated.
