    Quick Heating questions

So i have my terrarium set up with two infrared lamps and a UTH, the UTH reads at about 90, with the temperture on the cool side at around 83-85, on the hot side i also have another thermonitor that reads the temperature just above the substrate at around 87, is this too hot? (is this not air temp)

Is the UTH on a thermostat? what exactly are you using to measure temperatures?

i also have another thermonitor that reads the temperature just above the substrate at around 87, is this too hot? (is this not air temp)
If the thermometer is above the substrate then how is it not the air temp?

no, the hot side (air can be included in this (though it doesn't have to be) should be 88-92 degrees, and the cool side needs to be between 78-82 (all of the air in the cage can be this temperature as long as a UTH provides a 88-92 degree basking spot. (UTH's do not change the temperature of the air in a cage)

When you measure your UTH's temperature you are measuring this with either a temp gun or a probed thermometer on the floor of the cage directly over the UTH correct?

No part of the cage should ever be below 75 degrees or above 95 degrees.
