Repticon Ft. Lauderdale
Let me start off by saying this was my first convention so I have nothing to compare it to. Anyway, the convention was small. Tiny actually, but I still enjoyed it and for $10 I can't complain.
Most, if not all, of the vendors were local. I can't imagine people who aren't local coming to an exhibit this small. I am not saying this expo was garbage, but it was very small.
As soon as I walked in, I saw one of my favorite tables from the whole expo. Which was Adam Chesla's tables. I spoke to him from a bit and after some convo ending up walking away with his champagne male (which was also the nicest one I saw at the show). Adam seems like a stand up guy, very cool to talk to. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking for quality animals. He also had a very wide selection of animals.
After picking up the champ male, my wallet was depleted so I spent the next couple of hours just browsing. The booths that really stood out to me were Hot Box Incubators, Mike Bell's booth and C Serpent Racks.
Hot Box Incubators look like some very quality incubators and the gentlemen I spoke to was very knowledgable on his product. He covered everything from A-Z and didn't seem like he was trying to just push his product, he geniunely seemed interested in what he does.
Mike Bell booth was really cool because he had some snakes I had never seen in person. They were also very nice looking examples of their morphs. His Citrus Flames were amazing. Definitely 100x's nicer than any Firefly I've ever seen. He too seemed very knowledgable and like a geniune guy. Unfortunately most of his booth was way out of my price range. I wish I had that kind of stitch.
Last, but not least, was C Serpents Racks. I really only looked at one rack, which is what I need next but I must say I was very impressed by the quality of it. What I really enjoyed was the thickness of the xpvc sheets he uses. They look sturdier than most others. His prices were also hard to beat, especially since he's local to me.
All in all, from the small talk I had with all these people, I would definitely be doing business with them in the future. I just need more $$$. As far as the expo goes, I don't think I'd go to another expo like this if it was a little further than this one was. Ft. Lauderdale is only about 45 mins. away so I didn't mind the drive considering how small it was. But if it was a couple of hours away I wouldn't go.
Either way, it was very enjoyable and seemed more like a way to spend a couple hours instead of the crazy expo I was hoping. But I still had a great time and enjoyed my latest pickup. For those of you who went, please feel free to give your feedback here.

I was there today. And drove from out of town. Honestly i wasnt really impressed. 2 1/2 hours each way too haha. I did really like the Hot Box Incubators though but thats about it. Me and my buddy decided that the only expo were going to anymore is the Daytona Breeders Expo. Still a 3 hrs drive north of me but that is defiantly worth the trip. It will blow your mind haha.

Yea 2 1/2 hours is too much for a one way trip. I'd make that for Daytona but not for this small of a show. An hour each way is bearable but 2, no way lol.

Nice looking Champagne! Thank you for the report. The last Repticon I went to that really had any size to it was the Charlotte Repticon back in 2009.
Hope to see as many of my fellow Floridians and other traveling BP.netters as possible in Daytona!

Unless I was buying a few snakes, I don't think I'd be going out of my way for this show again. But I'm ready for Daytona.

We were at that show. Well not me since i had to man down the fort. Though my boss did.
He said the show was good for being small. We are a supply vendor table. Pinellas County Reptiles :]
One day i will be standing at one of those tables. But for now i have to man the shop when they go to shows lol.
Then I'm tiny like a door mouse
Short like a bungalow house
Minute like a pixie
You can barely even see me
