We would like to introduce ourselves, We are the ETHS (The East Texas Herpetological Society) founded over 20 years ago and co-sponsored by the Houston Zoo. Our purpose is to provide regular meetings to educate the members and general public about the natural history, ecology, husbandry, and veterinary care and treatment of reptiles and amphibians and to provide a forum and opportunity for camaraderie among anyone interested in reptiles and amphibians. We also want to promote an understanding and appreciation of reptiles and amphibians among the general public, provide a collective pool of knowledge for those interested in any aspect of herpetology including conservation, research, breeding and the captive care of reptiles and amphibians, and unite herpetologists as a potential force to deal with issues concerning the study, conservation, collecting and keeping of reptiles and amphibians.

The ETHS is a not for profit organization. Any profits from this show will be used to provide reptile related scholarships or grants to individuals or organizations as chosen by the organization.

We are aware you were associated with another reptile club that has gone the way of the dinosaurs. We would like you to get to know us better, so we are extending a free membership in ETHS to you through May of 2013. We have meetings at the Houston Zoo every other month plus our big annual show in the Fall, along with zoo tours, campouts and other member only events during the year.

Next weekend we are having a two day Reptile Expo that was driven by some of your former members. Please see the attached or go to our website for details. Members and vendors are invited to a free Ice Breaker Friday night at the Crowne Plaza from 7 PM until?? There will be snacks, pizza, beer, soft drinks and margaritas and lots of people to meet.
