    Opinions wanted

Ok we have a reptile show coming up on the 20th. My husband is giving me a $200 allowance. I'm trying to come up with a bit more to add to it though. Any way I'm trying to decide what female I should look out for the most. I currently have a 100% het albino boy with reduced pattern and nice colors. My other boy I recently picked up is a nice little yellow belly. I was thinking of a nice pastel to pair up with my yb. I already have a 66% het albino female that I want to try with my het albino boy when she is big enough so I'm in no rush to pick up an albino just yet unless she really catches my eye. For my price range what do you guys think would be best?
I'll add photos of my boys in a bit so you can see what I'm working with.

A pastel, spider, or fire would all be good choices.

Can she really get a Fire for $200?

Prices are surely dropping, but $200 is still limited to pastel, spider, spotnose...
My ultimate goal is an Albino Clown Pied.

$200 is pretty minimum to get a female. With that, I would say you would only be able to get pastels. Maybe mojaves, pins, and spiders.

But with your current selection, I would try to opt for a double gene female.
You can get super pastels, bumble bees (pastelxspider), lemonblasts (pastelxpinstripe), black/pewters (black pastel/cinnnyxpastels) for around ~$500 or less. Show prices may be lower because breeders tend to give special prices. And paying cash may help persuade a breeder to lower the price of an animal.

Pastel yellowbellies are hot! Good luck w/ that future pairing.

I think i'm leaning towards a pastel, but thanks for the input. Still hoping to pull some more together, so we will see.

    Female yellowbelly to make Ivory's

Everyone needs a little Ivory in their collection

Or you could buy a large adult female normal and produce your own yellowbelly's

I say save a little more for a female YB or a Fire. Either of those will put you a little further in the game than a Pastel, and IMO make much better combos with the YB. A Spider is also a good choice, as would be a Pinstripe (I am a bit more partial to Pins).

But, my vote goes to Fire or YB.

In the end I would try to double your money to $400, and have a short list to go to the show and grab what you like best off that list.

    My list would be:

    1. Fire
    2. YB
    3. Black Pastel/Cinnamon
    4. Pinstripe
    5. Spider

You could maybe get both the Spider and Pin in a package deal for that.

At this point, I do not really look for Pastels on their own, only in combo. So that skews me from Pastel.

Also remember, QUALITY should trump all if you plan to breed. So expect that a premium example is going to cost more than a crappy one. You are much better off waiting and saving for a pristine example than settling for one that is not.
