    Swamp Wars

Wow...can't sleep so turned on the tv and watching a show called Swamp Wars...

I know this is not a new show but never watched it until tonight. Among the topics, deadly boas in Florida and DEADLY tegus and Niles.

Watching the show they actually said "coming up, a monitor even more deadly than Tegu monitors, the dreaded Nile monitor". Wow....it doesn't surprise me as these shows are all about ratings and sensationalizing everything for ratings, but it disgusts me. Watch out parents, there are DEADLY tegus out there that will snatch your children from their rooms at night, and if you see a boa or Nile, RUN!!!!!

    Ignorance at its best.

Addition lol as the show goes on, couple talks about how their cat went missing and it's body was found near a red tail boa...watch out America!

Now let's say a pet rat went missing, and was found near a house cat, shouldn't we go after domestic cats, being that would prove how "deadly" they are... God have to stop watching this, just pissing me off with the amount of ignorance and sensationalizing going on

Oops they caught a 4-5 ft boa who, if not caught could easily kill your entire family

Saw that episode yesterday, and it is ridiculous, especially when I plan on trying to talk my fiance (that's terrified of snakes) into letting me get a boa, I tried changing it but she wanted to watch it so I was constantly saying that's wrong, and that's no where near true, throughout the entire show..

I have sat and talked with those guys for a while at some shows. They get so mad at some of the things that animal planet puts on there. They basically shoot the show and then Animal planet takes everything and they put their "deadly and killer animal" spin on it. Please don't judge the guys they truly love reptiles and that have some nice collections themselves.

The show once said ball pythons make great pets, only good thing the show has said. I don't like animal planet anymore though, I feel like they've been taken over my animal rights groups or something and show stuff bashing "exotic dangerous animals" or pet owners in general. I find myself watch NatGeo Wild a lot now, way better.

100% agree. The actual content of the show is good. It's the voice over guy and the editing that makes me mad.

I watch those shows thinking I'll get to see some cool herps and always end up having to turn them off because they flip it into some sensationalized horror story and I get frustrated.

They never fail to mention that one poor fellow who died but wasn't discovered for a while, so his monitors began to eat him because they started to starve without his care. No matter that it has NOTHING to do with the swamps in Florida, it might freak people out, let's rehash that one again!
