So, Mr. Hisster, my normal BP has eaten his last three meals in alternating fashion.

Meal No. 1: I threw the mouse in and he came all the way out of his hide, struck, constricted it, ate it, and went back to his hide, fairly typical.

Meal No. 2: I threw a rat fuzzie in, he came about 3/4 of the way out of his hide, struck, constricted the rat, bit it, and retreated to his hide with the rat in his mouth. He blocked the entrance with his body and the rat was never seen again. I don't know, maybe BP eat in their hides all the time, I'd just never seen it before.

Meal No. 3: I threw an adult mouse in when he just happened to be hanging out on a branch. He struck, constricted, and ate, all without leaving the branch. Again, maybe other's BPs have done this (likely), I just found it interesting the three distinct means he choose to eat his meals. Pictures of meal No. 3 are below.

He can smell something and is getting ready to strike:

He found it:

I generally don't post feeding pictures, just though it interesting that a BP was eating from some branches.
