Probably why there's so many "retained eye cap horror stories"

Now, I'm just a noob at this but everything I've read thus far screams[ that this bad advice, am I missing something here?

If it starts with "by: Melissa Kaplan", I'd hit the back button and continue searching elsewhere...

She's crazy. But sadly that site is frequently visited by new keepers looking for advice.
    It's a total trap

Yeah, don't listen to anything she says/writes. Def not a good place for new keepers to start looking. I wish they would come here instead...

I hadn't heard about Kaplan before, though I recognise the site as one that -always- comes up on searches. She's well known for bad advice then?

Sorry no pics bc mine usually all have perfect sheds but if you look really closely at the snakes eye you would be able to tell. Itll sorta look dried out/cracked or maybe bubbly. Itll look like something over the eye, (obviously bc there is lol).
