Post ovulation and still on cool side...

So My yellow belly female ovulated a week ago and is still on the cool side. Whats the longest youve had a female stay on the cool side after ovulation. Before anyone asks, I'm 100% she ovulated and it was not building. Just curious, she ovulated spread out over the hot spot for a couple days and was coiled up on the hotspot again last night but she just wont stay there. Just thought it was odd since all my other females stay on the hotspot from ovulation till laying. I suppose it will just take her longer to lay, lol.

The female we had lay a few weeks ago moved back and forth some. And our Pinstripe female that is due to lay in about a week has been doing the same thing. They spend most of their time coiled up on the warm side, but I have caught them pretty regularly hanging out on the cool side for short periods of time.
They know exactly what they need to do to regulate the temp of the eggs so it's not something to really worry about.
Also, our first girl laid 46 days after Ovy so I don't think it effects the time frame from Ovy to laying to much.

How bad would it be, to just let the female incubate her own eggs? I don't have an incubator, and haven't setup any plans to make mine yet. If by say she was about to lay fert/eggs, could she safely take care of them for the 50+ days?

Maternal Incubation can be done. The biggest issue that I have heard of people running into is being able to keep the humidity up for the full 60 days.
Also, when letting the female incubate herself you are losing 2 additional months of feeding the female and possibly getting her ready for the next breeding season.

appreciate that, I'll look it over. If it does come down to that, I'll search around locally for anyone able to assist on the incubation process. I was planning on turning my old fridge into an incubator, but not till Sept. Thanks.

2 what are your floor temps on the hot side? I wouldn't let them get over 89-90 (bator temps)

lol, yes she ovy'd. I posted some pics just in case. Hotspot temp is at 90 degrees and controlled by spyder robotics herpstat and temps are confirmed by my heat guns. Everything is spot on, she just must like the cool side (79 degrees).
