Need to find a new home for my BP
I'm looking to adopt out my Ball Python, as I'm focusing more on my Bearded Dragons, and I'd like to find her a better home.
She's nothing special with regard to her breeding, as she's just a simple normal that I bought as a baby from PetCo, but she's very beautiful IMO, and very healthy. She's approximately two years old, only an inch or two shy of four feet long, and weighs approximately 1400 grams (cleared out). She's eating medium-sized F/T rats every 7-10 days, and has never given me any problems with feeding (in fact, she's prone to OVER-feeding, though recently she's taken to preferring that I leave the F/T rat in her tank and walk away).
As far as her enclosure goes, she's currently housed in a 40-gallon breeder tank, with Zoo Med Eco Earth as her substrate (completely changed out every other month). Twice a week, water is added to keep the humidity levels at a desirable level, so she's always had perfect sheds. She's got her large hide on one side and her large water dish (kept scrupulously clean) on the other, both of which are made of a heavy resin. She has a rheostat-regulated UTH under where her hide sits (kept at a low level just for a bit of belly heat) with a 75 watt "red" heat lamp suspended over it, both of which are run 24/7. Her temps are kept between 88*F and 92*F on the warm side, and room temperature on the cool side (though during the Winter I'll add a low-wattage CHE on the cool side, just to make sure the temps don't fall too low). I have two digital probes, one of either side of her tank. I also have a few plastic hanging plants for decoration in with her.
I've also got all feeding, shedding, and pooping records for her beginning with January 2011 (I've somehow managed to throw out the records from 2010 when I moved... *facepalm*)
For the right home, I'm including her, her enclosure with all decorations and lighting/lamp stand/power strip/digital probes, along with about 20 medium F/T rats (all purchased from rodentpro[dot]com), though of course as the weeks go by, that number will gradually decrease.
I'm not looking to make any money off of her, as I'm really just wanting her to go to a good home, however I *would* like to recoup some of the money I've spend on her enclosure and rodents, so I'm asking an adoption fee of $75. I'm NOT willing to ship, because I'd like her to stay with her accustomed enclosure, though I am willing to drive a reasonable distance for the right person (I'm located in Sacramento, CA).
I'm posting here first, as I'd like her to go to someone who already has an appreciation for and experience with Ball Pythons, but if I don't get any interest, then she'll be going on CraigsList. If anyone would like to take her in, or if you have any more questions, feel free to PM me here, or email me directly at megan.thompson78@gmail.com.
The pictures below were all taken recently, btw, within the last month:
