We have our hatchlings in tubs that are about 3 inches tall, and probably about the same footprint as a piece of printer paper (8.5X11?), and are completely opaque blue. Shorter than the 6qt, but a larger footprint, and allows for a little more growth, but still has plenty of security and sort of works as a tide hide. They get moved out of this tub once they get large enough that they barely fit, and then get moved into the reptile basics rack (about 28-32qt), which is enclosed on all sides except the front, and not quite as large as the breeder racks/tubs. To give you an idea, our largest snake currently in the 'hatchling' rack is probably about 500g, and she's never refused a meal in the last few months we have had her, even in shed. The idea is that I want them to transition to a new home without feeling dwarfed by it. I want them to transition and keep eating without a hitch, and this process seems to work perfectly for them.
We have a couple opaque tubs that are midway between the hatchling and reptile basics rack if we need as well, but they are very rarely ever used.

We start ours in Sterilite "shoebox" tubs. They stay in there til they are about 200ish grams, give or take. Then we move them to a 12qt.

Vision v18 tubs are the best. They are perfect for hatchlings and they can stay in there till 500 grams
