    Layne Labs for feeders?

Does anybody here order from them? I checked out RodentPro but their feeders only come in huge bags and I don't really need 100 mice for one snake. Well, the snake bug's bitten me bad and I already want more (my tax return's coming in soon, yay!) but even then I'll be feeding them rats and not mice and ordering 100 mice then having them sit in my freezer until the end of time just seems wasteful, while I can order 25 or 50 from Layne Labs and have a better chance of using them all up. They seem more expensive, but is the quality really as great as they say it is?

Also, how long will feeders last in a freezer? 6 months? 12 months? Longer? It'd be nice to be able to fill a freezer then not have to worry about buying more for a long time unless something happens to them.

    Re: Layne Labs for feeders?

I have purchased over a hundred feeders from them at local so cal shows. Their rodents are top notch and packaged well. I've never ordered from rp or any of the other online companies so maybe someone else can chime in on them.

I purchased a chest freezer just for my feeders so I stock up whenever I can. I believe if you package the feeders correctly, you can keep them for up to a year. I believe Layne Labs has a q & a section that might answer that question.

I have 10 bps and a jcp so buying in bulk is way cheaper and convenient.

    Hope this helps

I've sourced feeders from different suppliers over the years, and for the most part, a rat is a rat.

I have no issues keeping feeders in the freezer for up to 8 months.

    Re: Layne Labs for feeders?

I've been several places looking for quality rats and was disappointed. I got on here looking to see where other people were going and saw a lot of positive responses for layne labs. Wow, I couldn't be happier and will be returning. Great customer service, great packaging, healthy clean looking rats.
    Thanks Layne Labs

Top notch!! Great service, large and very clean rats - could not be happier!

And 8 months is the max I will keep them so that sounds about right to me.

They keep well for a year just do not leave the bag open and let them get freezer burn.

As far as quantity adult mice are sold by bag of 25 on Rodent Pro - BP get to eat adults in no time at all.

As for ordering keep in mind that even if you order a small quantity shipping will be at least $30 and in my experience only ordering bulk (quantity of 100 or more) make it worth it compare to what you will pay in shipping, and since you only have one snake it might be more economical to buy locally.
