    Lids from sterilite tubs

Not sure if this topic has been covered before or if its in the right thread but I was wondering what u guys and gals do with your tub lids if you don't use them in your racks. I have about 10 28qt blue sterilite lids that are stacked up in my garage. I will keep a couple for transporting and temporary housing but really don't know what I can use the rest of the lids for.
Any ideas bp related or not would be great. I would hate to dump them in the trash. Possibly donate them but unknown for what purpose.

    thanks

I cut them with my dremmel (must be an easier way) and turn them into dividers for my 41 qt tubs. I put notches in the side of the tub and in the edge of the lid so they fit together. I still had to secure them with zip ties to the outside of the bin though.

We don't even take the lids when we buy new tubs, at this point. I have used old tub lids as a 'food catcher' for our new chickens, so they wouldn't make as much of a mess. That didn't last long.

The cashiers from Big Lots don't seem to learn, as frequently as we have been in, that we still do not want lids.

A typical Big Lots tub transaction:

    "Oh, don't forget your lids!"
"We don't need them, but thanks"
"Why wouldn't you need the lids?"
"We use them for snakes, not sweaters"
    "Wont they get out???"
"No, they're very well behaved snakes.... "
    Cashier stares, wide-eyed
"....just kidding, they fit like drawers where the shelf works as a lid".
    "Oh, thank God"

That is a REALLY good idea. Do you by chance have any pics of this setup? I might have to try one of these myself.

Sure! I will get some pics tonight. I don't think it is worth doing this a lot as it takes a lot of time to make one and you have to figure out how to run your heat. Our 41 qt are also fitted sideways in the rack.
