new rack built, now I need tub help...
So I bought the "skinny" billy bookshelf from Ikea to build a hatchling rack for eight 5 or 6 qt tubs. I finish building it, (Actually my husband did ) but the tubs are a teeny bit two wide to fit side by side and too long to fit without lids. So instead of 4 shelves with two tubs each, It's one tub sideways and pushed all the way back to rest next to the flexwatt. Does anyone know of any other brand of tubs that are square instead of rectangle or that will fit in these dimensions....
The tubs that I bought are sterilite 6 qt with the white lids (non-locking as I built shelves to make the tubs to fit with no lids)

Is it possible to trim the outer edges of the tubs to get them to fit?

Re: new rack built, now I need tub help...
theres a good 3 inch gap as the tubs i have are 13 in long and the shelf is 10 1/2 in deep. I couldnt find any tubs that were 11 in long except some from target but they are 2 1/2 in too short but would otherwise fit perfectly! Pulling the shelves out and resetting them is a no go, I glued those bad boys in arg

I have the "Billy" deep bookcase, I measured it for sterilite 6 qt tubs, it's 14" deep and they fit perfectly, I'm considering re purposing it as a hatchling rack or buying another one when I need it. If you're set on using the "skinny" model then it sounds like you may hand to make a lot of modifications and likely get less tubs in it. If you can replace it with the "deep" model you can fit way more Tubs without modifications. . .
this is the bookcase I measured http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10208472/
I know it's huge since you only wanted a few tubs, but you could cut it down and have a smaller rack and a small bookcase! just throwin' ideas out there, hope it helps some. . .
