    my other hobby

(one of my others I suppose)

I fish. Quite a bit. This year, I'm focusing on fly fishing. I have a 4wt I've had for a few years, and a new 9wt this year I'm waiting for pike opener to break in.

To accompany the fly fishing, I've been learning to tie my own flies. It's been pretty fun, here are a few of my most recent ones.

And my most recent catches. Bass and pike aren't open yet, so I've been chasing crappies. Stumbled into one accidental bass though! (lol)

Nice. I'm a huge fisherman too! Not into fly fishing though but I do like float fishing for salmon and trout. I'd say my favorite would be fishing in my boat for bass, pike, walleye and Muskie though.

Thats awesome. I have the same hobby but different style fishing. Im an offshore guy and one of my favorite things to do is make my own gear. Liters, lures, teasers etc. I just completed making some shark rigs using weed eater line crimped to stainless cable. Love this time of year

Man, either that is a BABY bass or you have a GIGANTIC reel.

Love fishing too, though I've never really had the opportunity to try fly fishing. Muskies are really my thing, due mainly to the fact that I get to stay active while doing it, and of course the fact that you really know there's a battle ahead when you hook into one. I think fly fishing would be a good fit for me because of the continuous activity as well. I'm just not a big fan of sitting still in a boat waiting for stuff to happen.

I am really into flathead catfishing, but fly fishing interests me more every year.

    Re: my other hobby

Now you just gotta get into bamboo fly rod building. I'm considering taking a week long course this summer which would end with me having my own handmade fly rod.
