    Natural looking substrate dilema....

... and again I'm in step one... My both Striped house snakes are on Cypress mulch.. One is in Eco terra 18x18x18 second is in 30 qt rack.. and they doing fine...

With My Black House Snakes.. i was forced to switch to sanichips because with divider cypress was way too humy !!!... even if at particular tube have double holes on every wall... and that pose some problem....

I'm planing swith to divided T10 from AP in nearest future... but looking on ventilation in that particular cage I'm affraid that too high humidity could be an Issue...

I tried coco hust before with my balls.. and dont like this substrate too much.. so only one alternative is fir bark because is stays dryer that cypress mulch..

Now two Questions to all of Ya...
Any other Alternative ?? (i want dark substrate and dont trust colored aspen)....
And from You with have experiences with different brands of Bark.. with one have smallest chips... finer grade than others...

    Thanks in Advance

I bought a bag of the Kritter Keeper stuff in the coarse grade and it seems pretty nice. I use it for my Cresties. I thought the humidity was a bit too high in my snake rack with it, but I do not have holes in my tubs. They make a fine version of it as well.
