    Just fed my baby!

So I thawed my F/T small adult mouse for 45ish minutes in cool water until it was soft all the way through, blasted it with a hairdryer for a while to make it warm enough to 'look alive'. Dangled the mouse, snakey wasn't impressed. So I just dropped it in front of the snake and got a bite a few minutes later. It finally released and I left it alone to eat and so far it hasn't gone down the hatch.

Of course I just went and checked after typing and walked in on it swallowing the tail so my first feeding day was a success!

You may have to reheat with the hairdryer concentrating on the head area.

EDIT: Nevermind what I said. Congrats on the successful feed.

Thanks! It was hovering over it the first time I went back in to check and I wasn't sure if I would have to try and take the mouse to reheat and risk a bite but I was glad to see it found the mouse good enough.

Also got myself tagged. Thought it was safe to adjust some substrate but I guess not. I barely felt it, though. At least the first bite is over.

Congrats on the successful feeding. Sometimes they don't like an audience when they eat. I have one that won't even start to hunt unless he thinks he's alone.

I have a personal rule about never sticking my hand in the tubs after prey has been introduced. Sometimes they stay in feeding mode for a while after they eat.

Well it had been about 4 hours and I'd stuck my hand in before that. Guess it just likes the substrate pushed up into piles. That's what I get for trying to make the tub look nice I guess
