    Constant soaking

One of the new Bp's I got is constantly soaking and I'm not sure why. I've checked her for mites (with a wet white paper towel) and I haven't seen anything but i'm treating her with provent-a-mite just in case. She is possibly gravid, could that be a reason? Like she's getting in the water bowl instead of wrapping?

I've tried contacting the past owner to see when the last time she shed was but I've gotten no response. Any reason or suggestions would be helpful, I don't want her getting scale rot from the constant wet environment since when she soaks she spills the water as well.

How long have you had her? And, has she been soaking since you got her?

Little over a week, and yes, she's been soaking from day 1.

If you are keeping her in a tub with no hides, try offering her one. Sometimes, if they don't feel secure, they will hang out in the water bowl becuase it is usually a tight fit...

She had one for the first 5 days and never got in it, then poo'd on it so I took it out lol. I'll try giving it back and see if that helps some. Thank you

If she does in fact have mites, you would definately see some floating in the water bowl if you remove her from it. How are the hot side/ cold side/ ambient temps?...possibly too warm?

hot side is 91, cool/ambient is 80-85. Haven't noticed anything in the water bowl.

I put the hide in last night after i cleaned her tub out again. this time I stuck her under it instead of just putting her in the tub with it and she is happily bulging out it now. (Looks like I need a bigger hide ) No water in the tub this morning so I guess she was just wanting some where to hide and couldn't figure it out before.

    Thanks again

I'm hoping she's gravid lol. But none of my other girls have soaked like this, just found it odd so I wanted to see if it could be something else other than mites and/or being gravid.

She seems happier with the hide, so far she hasn't come out so I guess that's what she wanted
