    Re: gravid for how long?

The entire process takes several months but it can vary as not everyone knows exactly when their female starts developing follicles, they may be too small to detect. Starting from the initial breedings with the male, follicle development is the longest part where you could be looking at 3-4 months time, then ovulation, only after they have ovulated is when they are deemed 'gravid'. After ovulation its roughly 45 days before the female lays eggs.
In total your looking at about 5 1/2 maybe 6 months to get a clutch out a female, just depending on what speed she wants to go.

I agree you can't make them do anything no matter how bad u want them to I had a very unusual year last year everyone of my females except a 1300g girl went and I find that lucky alot of people should agree only 50-75% of females go year after year or there first year but every girl is different and might go early like the 1300g girl that didn't go last season ovulated 2 weeks ago for me and none of the others have ovulated yet it's all about waiting, watching and doing your part

    ^ Epic run on sentence.

To the OP, once ovulation is witnessed, they will shed around 2 weeks later and then about 30 days they will lay.
